If you travel through the intersection of Greenspring Avenue, Worthington Avenue and Tufton Avenue, you know what an improvement the roundabout made to the flow of traffic there. This was VPC’s project – we put together the funding, including raising $100,000 to augment State and County dollars, and worked on the design and required easements.

While the roundabout works as planned, the plantings there have not survived and need to be replaced. Garden designer and former Ladew lead horticulturist Sarah Oktavec, with the help of volunteers, will be installing native perennials better suited to the site. Maintenance, including watering and weeding, is included in the plan for the roundabout.
