At our Annual Meeting September 19, we honored two members of the Board of Directors who are stepping down from active service. Pete Colhoun and Meriwether Morris both served for nearly 30 years and have agreed to become emeritus members of the Board, remaining involved and informed about activities in VPC’s territory.
Montague and Betsy Wilmerding will stay on the Board but will be leaving the Executive Committee. They have both provided much sage counsel, served on and chaired committees, and have guided VPC through many complicated issues.
Board members Will Cook and Alice Chalmers will join the Executive Committee. We look forward to the energy and enthusiasm they bring to the table!
Several elected officials joined us for the evening, including Councilman Izzy Patoka and Senator Ben Brooks. We all enjoyed an informative presentation about bees by Sam Droege, a scientist at the United States Geological Survey Patuxent Wildlife Research Center.
