In late November, representatives from the Greater Greenspring Association and VPC met with the attorney representing the Associated Jewish Charities (AJC) in the 56-lot subdivision proposed for the Jewish Community Center (JCC) site on Garrison Forest Road. At the meeting, community leaders explained their concerns about the intensity of development, as well as growing concerns about traffic on Garrison Forest Road. The community would like to see a reduction in the number of houses proposed and options for reducing traffic impacts on Garrison Forest Road.

Neighbors in adjacent communities are organizing to bring pressure on the AJC to address residents’ concerns and alleviate potential impacts. Local residents have launched a Facebook page to keep those interested apprised of the latest developments. At this point, only a concept plan has been filed with the county. The next step will be the filing of a detailed development plan and public hearing.
