The Valleys Planning Council has held three highly successful art exhibits and sales. The event, Art for Land’s Sake, supports the basic operations of the Valleys Planning Council, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization started in the early 1960s. The Council has played a prominent role in establishing sound land use polices in Baltimore County with the goal of controlling growth and increasing land conservation.
We are pleased to announce that the 2011 event will take place at Halcyon Farm, a 122 acre horse farm just north of the Greenspring Valley in Lutherville, Maryland. Halcyon Farm is owned by Stiles T. Colwill, is a well-known interior designer and chairman of the board of the Baltimore Museum of Art. His generosity in lending the use of this outstanding property along with his expertise and experience, combined with the know-how of the VPC’s art show committee and support of the membership, will insure a high-quality show with wide appeal.
