Residents living on and near Hess Road contacted the VPC last year to discuss concerns about a planned replacement of the one-lane bridge on Hess Road over the Little Gunpowder Falls. This bridge is not within VPC’s territory, but neighbors sought input due to our involvement in rural road design standards.

The bridge links Baltimore County and Harford County. Harford County’s Department of Public Works will take the lead on the proposed replacement, and a meeting will be held on October 11 at 6 p.m. in the Veronica “Roni” Chenowith Activity Center, 1707 Fallston Road in Fallston.

Area residents are concerned that replacing the existing bridge with a wider, two-lane bridge will increase traffic and speeds along Hess Road. To gain additional information and share your views, please plan to attend the meeting.
