Richard B. Buck, Chairman of the Board of the Valleys Planning Council, Inc., passed away on January 27, 2007. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the Valleys Planning Council, P.O. Box 5402, Towson, MD 21285.

Dick was a significant force within the Valleys Planning Council for the last four decades, where he served as President, for more than 25 years. He was the first recipient of the Valleys Planning Council's annual McHarg Award. Dick ascended to the Chairmanship of the VPC in 2001 and was active until his hospitalization late last year. He was devoted to preservation of the countryside in the valleys. Our condolences go out to his wife, Joan, and their family. Dick Buck will be missed by all.
